UN Women MCO Caribbean Representative

Ms. M. Alison Mclean is the UN Women Representative for the Multi-Country Office (MCO) - Caribbean.   Alison brings over 30 years of experience in international relations, project management and leadership. 

Alison joins UN Women from the Ministry of Culture, Gender Entertainment and Sports in Jamaica where she served as Permanent Secretary.  Prior to her appointment as Permanent Secretary, Alison served as the Chief Technical Director/Principal Director of the Office of the Prime Minister in Jamaica and her portfolio of responsibilities included gender affairs.

Having served across the Caribbean and the United States advocating for the rights of the most vulnerable, Alison worked as a Special Advocate for Children in the US and as the Chief Executive Officer for the Child Development Agency in Jamaica.    She also spent nearly two (2) decades lecturing at the University of the West Indies on International Relations and Negotiations.

Alison is a national of Jamaica.  She holds a Master of Philosophy Degree in International Relations from Cambridge University.
