The new United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator and United Nations DevelopmentProgramme (UNDP) Resident Representative, Mikiko Tanaka, has paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), Dr. Steve Surujbally.
Minister of State, Mr. Joseph Harmon, today, met with the new United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative, Ms. Mikiko Tanaka, at his office at the Ministry of the Presidency. Ms. Tanaka replaces former United Nations Resident Representative, Ms. Khadija Musa, whose tour of duty ended last month.
PRESIDENT David Granger on Wednesday met with the new representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ms Mikiko Tanaka, at the Ministry of the Presidency. Ms Tanaka, who has been in Guyana for about two weeks now,has replaced Khadija Musa, whose tour of duty ended last month. During the meeting, several areas of mutual interest, including the President’s push for a “green economy” and Guyana’s thrust for the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, were discussed, a release from the Ministry of the Presidency noted.
