The UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) was established by the Executive Board of UNESCO at its 195th session and officially announced at the World Conference on ESD in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan last year. The call for nominations for the first edition of the Prize has been opened. The Prize honours outstanding efforts of individuals, institutions, organizations or other entities engaged in ESD activities. Generously funded by the Government of Japan, the Prize consists of three annual awards of USD 50,000 for each winner. The Dag Hammarskj√∂ld Fund for Journalists is now accepting applications from professional journalists from developing countries for its 2015 fellowship program. The application deadline is March 16, 2015. The fellowships are available to radio, television, print and web journalists, age 25 to 35, from developing countries who are interested in coming to New York to report on international affairs during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The fellowships will begin in early September and extend to late November and will include the cost of travel and accommodations in New York, as well as a per diem allowance.…
