The Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health conducted a Peer Education workshop in Baramita, Region 1 for in-school youths of the Baramita Primary School during the period 19-20 June 2017. This training was initially scheduled for three days, however due to exigencies with the Ministry of Education; the duration of the training was reduced to 2 days.
The Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health conducted a three-day training of trainers’ workshop on the diagnosis and management of cancers during the period 16-18 May 2017.
This workshop was attended by 30 health professionals from all Regions in the country during the period 10-12 May 2017. The methodology utilised to present the information was through lectures, group discussions and exercises. The Assessment of Chronic Illness Care (ACIC) instrument was used to initially evaluate the implementation of integrated management of chronic diseases in Guyana. Results of the ACIC questionnaire were presented and used throughout the workshop.
