The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on 30 November, 2017 signed the approved Project Document for the ICT Access and e-Services for Hinterland, Poor and Remote Communities project that will be executed by the National Data Management Authority (NDMA).  Signing on behalf of the Government of the Co-operative of Guyana (GCRG) were Hon. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana (GCRG) hosted two (2) workshops on November 22 and November 29, 2017, respectively under the auspices of the “Strengthening Guyana's Capacity to Effectively Combat Trafficking in Persons and Assist Victims of Trafficking” Project, which is an initiative that aims to increase the number of convictions for TIP-related offences and, hopefully, to significantly reduce, if not eliminate altogether the crime of TIP. A National CariSECURE Task Force was launched on November 29, 2017 to ensure the implementation of activities in Guyana under the regional project, which seeks to strengthen evidence based decision making for citizens in the Caribbean.
