In January, the Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and the UN System signed the United Nations Multi-country Sustainable Development Framework (UN MSDF) for the period 2017-2021 and the 2017 Guyana Country Implementation Plan (CIP). The new UN MSDF will focus on four priorities: An Inclusive, Equitable and Prosperous Caribbean; A Healthy Caribbean; A Cohesive, Safe and Just Caribbean; and A Sustainable and Resilient Caribbean. In an effort to begin 2017 poised to make specific and tangible strides to addressing gender inequality the UN Women Multi-Country Office – Caribbean and CARICOM signed an MOU in January to promote gender equality throughout the region.
