This workshop was attended by 30 health professionals from all Regions in the country during the period 10-12 May 2017. The methodology utilised to present the information was through lectures, group discussions and exercises. The Assessment of Chronic Illness Care (ACIC) instrument was used to initially evaluate the implementation of integrated management of chronic diseases in Guyana. Results of the ACIC questionnaire were presented and used throughout the workshop.
The Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health conducted a three-day workshop for community leaders and health care providers in Lethem, Region 9 during the period 23-25 May 2017. The facilitation team comprised two representatives from the PAHO/WHO Country Office: Ms. Karen Roberts, Specialist, Non Communicable Diseases and Family Health and Ms. Melanie Thomas, Coordinator, PAHO/Global Affairs Canada Project; and two representatives from the Ministry of Public Health; Ms Joy Gravesande, Health Education Officer and Ms Mosa Hutson, Psychologist, Mental Health Unit, Ministry of Public Health.
The Adolescent orientation training for Health Care Workers was conducted as follows: April 10-13, 2017 at Mabaruma , in Moruca from the 31st May to the 2nd June, 2017 at the Regency Hotel , Region 4, Georgetown from the 4- 7 July 2017.
